"The intense light and color of the New Mexico and Colorado landscapes are my inspiration to paint. Deep purples glow through the shadows in this starkly beautiful area of the country. I often begin my oils with a background of transparent glowing purple that peeks through the thick impasto texture of surface colors.
I have studied with masters including Alfred Currier, Don Sahli and Nancy Frost Begin. During the 1990's I concentrated on watercolor, then experimented with glass and sculpture during the early 2000's. Now I have found my passion in thick impasto oil paint. I love to experiment with new techniques and materials, always striving to push the boundaries of color and texture."
